Looking at the peak

Looking at the peak : Watercolour : 22 X 15 inches

This time I decided to add some 'atmosphere' to the painting and that's why you see the attempted mist and clouds :). I guess I was in a hurry with the foreground and that resulted in a not so fresh wash in that area. Have left a note for myself to be careful about it the next time.

Your thoughts, critiques, suggestions and comments please. Thanks.

  1. It looks great Sujit, I think the clouds and mist really worked! It does add a lot of atmosphere. And I hate it when I hurry through a painting, it's so frustrating! There's always something I'm unhappy with when I do that. But I can't tell on yours, it looks fresh to me.

And thanks for asking how we're doing. We're all better now and hopefully will stay that way for a while!

  3. Sujit, lovely work

    Regarding paper I use
The painting of wood is on fabriano regular white butI normally use paper from ecovision Pune .
Recently used Indigo artist paper and found it of very good quality for watercolors. http://www.indigoartistpaper.com/

  4. Crystal,

Thank you very much:). Well, the mud doesn't show up too much in the image, but the painting itself has some problem areas. I guess it's also got to do with the fact that I have been trying all sorts of paper recently. This one is Canson Montval. Its pretty good except that it doesn't behave well with glazing.

    Meera,
    Thanks for those kind comments.

    Ajay,
Thanks for stopping by and for the information on the kind of paper you use.

  5. costly for regular paintings.
Fabriono has celulose based paper which is called studio paper which is again as bad or good as Cansan. They have another paper (300 GSM regular white) and thats equally good as Archese available at 50 % of the cost. Another impoted paper by barnd name waterford is also very good .
For indigo I guess I am using 100% cotton one and its good.
